Munira Mendonça

Munira Mendonça began working with leather in the 70’s when she arrived to Bubion, a small village in southern Spain, in the province of Granada. It was here that she learned and developed a passion for this traditional craft as she worked for some years in this beautiful setting.

Munira has an exclusive range of ‘leather art work’ which include tooled calligraphies, leather pictures and other original art works. The actual height of expression has been achieved through the use of ancient embossing and polychrome techniques that survive, at least in Granada, in the hands of an old master.

The skin used on the majority of the products is naturally cured cowhide, which is free of any artificial manipulation other than that necessitated by the curing process. The resulting effects and finishes are unique to each article making each piece unique and highly exclusive.
